Mitcham, Historic Restoration
This had been my greatest challenge and most rewarding of my career - to bring a magnificent building back to its original glory. The building was in a derelict state and needed to be gutted and totally restored for a private residence to the highest standard. The key things were to match and source the original stonework, using sandstone from a local quarry and matching to the existing stone and mortar colours from150 years ago as well as achieving heritage approval. The local Mitcham Heritage Association have been so happy with the workmanship that a grant was awarded to support this process. Original colours that were within the building have also been used to remain authentic to the original residence. Every effort has been made to restore and retain this building in its original state with modern updates to create an amazing family home once again.
